As Legal Counsel, you will provide legal and contractual support for the various divisions within Iv. You will support various tender, procurement and project teams with your advice on legal and contractual risks and opportunities that arise in quotation and tender processes, during contract execution, and during maintenance or warranty periods. You will be involved in a range of contracts, from EPC Lumpsum Turnkey projects to technical consultancy, measurement and monitoring activities and second opinions, from outsourcing work in subcontracting and purchasing complex technical equipment to setting up international cooperation agreements and confidentiality agreements.

Contract management also forms part of your responsibilities, including drafting assignments for additional work and/or modifications and handling contractual claims. Furthermore, you will analyse, qualify, edit and negotiate received ITTs and RFQs, quote requests and quotations and associated contract documentation. Within your position, you will contribute to avoiding, limiting and resolving disputes while staying abreast of legal developments in relevant countries and industries. We will also challenge you to contribute to developing and implementing sample contracts, policies and procedures with legal implications.

The basic principle is that you will offer support from our office in Papendrecht but may also be required to work on location at one of our (foreign) clients. You will be our legal expert for the Executive Board and project managers.

To be eligible for this position, you must recognise yourself in the following profile: you have a Master's degree in Dutch law, preferably in construction law or a comparable level of education. In addition, you bring at least four years of work experience, preferably within the construction and/or offshore construction sectors or similar. You have experience with industry-specific contract standards such as DNR, UAV, UAV-GC, FIDIC (YB) and LOGIC. Experience with maritime contracts is an advantage. Experience and knowledge of and experience with contracts drafted in accordance with English law is advantageous. You have a professional command of written and spoken English. Professional command of German or other languages is of added value. Finally, you have excellent negotiation and editing skills, good interpersonal skills (both written and spoken) and can function well under pressure.
