How do we make the Netherlands climate-proof?

At Iv-Infra, we work every day to help build a climate-proof Netherlands. An example of our work is the complete preparation of an area development in relation to the water assignment, which involves the design of the surface water system, the sewerage system, and the groundwater system in a climate-robust way and establishing a connection with the inflow of clean seepage water. We also like to work on stream restoration projects in which we restore the balance between water retention and water drainage, thereby giving nature an extra boost. In addition to these extensive projects, we provide consultancy and design services for numerous projects within our company for water system-related issues. This could be the design for a wadi within an area renewal, the provision of geohydrological consultancy on the fresh/salt ratio in a tidal area or the drainage of a new bridge.

We are looking for a new colleague who will bring substantive expertise and experience to our team.
As a Water Systems Consultant, your tasks will include carrying out bottleneck analyses and determining solutions to issues in the water system. You will work on projects in the field of urban and regional water management, establish drainage and pumping recommendations and perform geohydrological analyses. As a consultant, you will often work on multidisciplinary projects. Project examples include the restoration of the St. Jansbeek stream and the development of the Valkenhorst area. Within the St. Jansbeek stream restoration project, we are working on a design that safeguards the ecological, landscape and hydraulic requirements. As a Water Systems Consultant, you will be responsible for the hydraulic design and coordination of interfaces with other disciplines. Within the Valkenhorst area development project, we are designing the entire water assignment, from surface water and sewage systems to relocating flood defences and solving the seepage problem. As well as making a substantive contribution to our projects, you will also build a broad network, proactively approach the market and take new ideas a step further. In short, you will contribute to the further growth and professionalisation of our Water Systems team.

Iv-Infra provides tailor-made and innovative designs and advice for constructing and maintaining sustainable infrastructure. You may already be familiar with our involvement in the new IJMuiden sea lock, the Zandhazen Bridge or the design of the Panama Canal lock gates. By developing and applying the latest technologies, we offer ready-made and sustainable solutions for not only today's societal challenges but also those of tomorrow! We provide integral advice for steel and concrete civil engineering works, hydraulic engineering, spatial planning, upkeep, traffic and infrastructure installations and railways. We also offer specialist services in spatial measurement and monitoring structures, RAMS and risk management, asset management, systems engineering, contract management, project management, and supervision.

What do we expect of you?

You have a higher vocational/university level degree (HBO/WO) in Hydrology, Water Management or Civil Engineering and at least five years of experience in water systems. Work experience at an engineering company or a water board is considered an advantage but not essential. We work with (geo)hydrological models such as SOBEK, D-Hydro, Imod and MicroFEM in our projects. In addition, we use the QGIS and ArcGIS packages to retrieve information and visualise results. Therefore, it would be beneficial if you can work with these models and packages and, above all, are enthusiastic about working with them. We present our modelling results in the form of maps accompanied by a report. Ideally, you enjoy presenting the starting points and results of the modelling to be carried out and can also present analyses in a structured and catchy way.

Should you not have all the required experience but have the ambition and drive within this magnificent field of work, enjoy working in a team, and are social and communicative, we would still like to get in touch with you!
