Wastewater Treatment Plant Sleeuwijk

The centralisation of Sleeuwijk wastewater treatment plant

Wastewater transport systems in the Netherlands are increasingly being centralised. Rivierenland Water Authority has also decided to centralise its treatment facilities in the Land of Heusden and Altena, a region in North Brabant province. In the new situation, all wastewater will be transported from the plants in Aalburg, Eethen and Dussen to the wastewater treatment plant in Sleeuwijk and the old plants will be taken out of operation. This operation requires expansion of the Sleeuwijk plant. To make this scale increase possible, new pressurised pipelines will be laid and transit pumping stations will be installed near the old wastewater treatment plants. For this project, Iv-Water produced the designs for the treatment plant, pumping stations and pressurised pipelines entirely in 3D.
