Thornton Bank transformer substation

Thornton Bank provides 350,000 households with green energy

The Thornton Bank offshore HVAC Transformer Station is part of the wind farm development by C-Power. The wind farm on the Thornton sandbank is located approximately 30 kilometres offshore from the Belgian shore. The wind turbines provide a voltage of 33 kV. In the offshore transformer station, this voltage is converted to 150 kV. The two transformers on the topside together have a capacity of 325 MW, which is sufficient to provide 350,000 households with sustainable energy. Iv-Offshore & Energy has executed the engineering and design of the topside steel structure, including the shop drawings and all their utility systems.
