Floating bridge in Norway
The Sognefjord is one of the most challenging and difficult fjords to cross. Replacing the ferry link by a floating bridge would reduce travel time enormously. The bridge has 20 spans, varying between 200 and 465 metres and lattice girders roughly 25 metres high and wide equipped with a special set of supports. Iv-Consult produced the technical study and the structural design of the bridge. It was a project that challenged the limits of civil engineering.
