Renovating whilst the purification process continues
WWTP Steenwijk has been organically extended in accordance with the BCFS principle. The BCFS reactor consists of five rings with a total diameter of 70 metres, with five-metre-high prefabricated walls. The BCFS aeration tank is the most exceptional construction of the extension. In this aeration tank, the complete purification process takes place before it is discharged to the settling tanks. Iv-Water composed the final design and draft specification, as well as supervising the new building and renovation. A precondition of this project was that the treatment process would at all times be guaranteed.
