On all fronts, a saving for the municipality
Iv-Water has been involved in many pumping station renovations in Eindhoven, but the renovation of the Eisenhowerlaan pumping station was the most unique. The existing treatment method was no longer efficient. Rainwater from the road surface was buffered into a rainwater storage cellar. To relieve the WWTP, this relatively clean water was then discharged to the surface water. But, due to the usage of brine on the roads during wintertime, this was not possible at this time of year and resulted in the water being transported to the WWTP. Hereby, manual conversion of the pipelines has taken place and the renovation of the pumping station has resulted in a more efficient and cheaper process, in which the pumping station operates completely autonomously.
