Statoil Etzel UGS

Increasing underground gas storage facilities

As part of Statoil’s intention to increase their participation in underground gas storage facilities in Western Europe, Iv-Offshore & Energy conducted two feasibility studies to develop alternatives of gas storage, including the basic design for new facilities for gas injection and withdrawal. In the two stand-alone facilities, various options have been investigated for further extension of the facilities capacity up to 200%. The Scope of Work of Iv-Offshore & Energy consisted of the compilation of a feasibility report, covering all the technical alternatives with their feasibility for the investigated business case and the preparation of a cost estimate for the project (CAPEX and OPEX).
