Antenna Mast Hoogersmilde

A complex construction with a height of 303 metres

The antenna mast in Hoogersmilde provides television and radio coverage for the North part of the Netherlands. On the 15th of July 2011, the guyed antenna mast collapsed due to fire in one of the power supply cables. Iv-Bouw and Iv-Consult have made a new design in close collaboration with the client and other stakeholders. The new mast has been increased to a height of 303 metres. Guyed masts of this size are one of the most complex structures in the construction industry.
Iv-Bouw took care of the project management and communication between all stakeholders and Iv-Consult was responsible for the technical aspects and structural design of the new mast.
