New care centre with sustainable design
‘Prinsenhof’, the new nursing care centre in the city of Gouda, offers nursing care to people with disabilities and dementia patients. The centre comprises two main sections, one called ‘Zorgplint’ with offices, treatment rooms, areas for health-related activities, a restaurant and commercial activities on the ground floor, and another called ‘Zorgtoren’ comprising five floors that accommodate nursing care units. The ‘Zorgtoren’ section has a total of 130 rooms for nursing care aligned to group living as well as associated communal areas. Building services systems are based on a sustainable design including a source system for underground energy storage combined with cooling and heating generation using a heat pump system.
