A clear and functional design ensuring high operational continuity
The buildings managed by the Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksgebouwendienst) have to meet stringent requirements. The multi-purpose building of the Ministry of Justice in Zoetermeer is no exception. In this building, 5,500 m² of office space on 5 storeys was fully renovated. In the process, a 200 m² computer room and a 400 kVA emergency power generator were integrated into the existing complex. A clearly laid out, functional design ensuring high operational continuity in the event of power outages were the main requirements for the building services systems. The renovation was carried out in stages while the building remained in use, which had been taken into detailed account in the project specifications. Practically all building services engineering disciplines were represented in this project.
