An additional - and quieter - railway bridge over the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal
A new railway bridge has been placed over the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal in a limited space between the existing railway bridge and the Hogeweide bridge. The new railway bridge is a steel arch bridge with vertical hangers and has a free span of 168 metres. The bridge deck is equipped with a concrete deck and a ballast bed to minimise noise for residents. The steel weight of the railway bridge is approximately 2900 tonnes. Iv-Infra worked together with BAM Infra and HSM Steel Structures on the complete design of the railway bridge including the concrete deck.
