Road constructors worked around the clock to realise the new A2
The A2 between Amsterdam and Utrecht has been widened from 2x3 lanes to 2x5 lanes. Rijkswaterstaat called the road reconstruction a monster job; the largest construction site in the Netherlands. The construction of the new A2 had to be sped up, but this was challenged by the presence of peat subsoil. To prepare the soil, unimaginable volumes of sand were supplied. Road constructors did everything in their power to realise the project within the planned schedule and worked around the clock in a 3-shift system. Iv-Infra created the design of the road and the new civil engineering works as well as taking care of the communication with all involved parties.
