Cooling the Ebola Vaccine Supply Chain

Winner 'Best Temperature Controlled Logistics Project Award'

When a Public Health Emergency was declared, the Ebola vaccine program had to be accelerated and expanded. Iv-Industrie has taken care of the freezing capacity for the vaccine of the Western Europe production sites. The challenge was to cool the vaccine to -60°C in a short time and to ensure that people may enter the rooms safely. To safely transport and store the vaccine, Iv-Industrie came up with the design for the new depot in Sierra Leone, the freezers, solar refrigerators and selected the transport boxes. The project won an award at the Frankfurt IQPC seminar.
