The Hollandsch Diep Bridge

Striking design with
Y-shaped supports

The Hollandsch Diep bridge (also known as the third Moerdijk bridge), is the longest railway bridge in the high-speed line Schiphol-Antwerp. The bridge is two kilometres long, of which about 1100 metres span the water. The main span is a steel concrete beam that is supported by 11 pillars which are spaced 105 metres apart. The bridge is exceptionally flat and rigid, as the high-speed trains which run across it achieve speeds of 300 km/h. Iv-Infra, together with Gemeentewerken Rotterdam, created the final design and detailing of the bridge, the bridge supports and the foundations.
