Preventing contaminated surface water
At the Halmaheiraplein in Dordrecht, an infiltration basin has been installed to cut the number of incidents of spillage due to an overload of the sewerage system. Iv-Water made the design, construction calculations and drawings for this. Thanks to a smart design, the heavier particles in the water sink to the bottom, so that relatively clean water is spilled in the case of a high surge of water. The sediment on the bottom is later loosened by a rinsing system and the contents of the basin are pumped back into the sewer.
