3D Laser Scanning of the Botlek Railway Tunnel

An accurate picture of deformations and settlements

The Botlek railway tunnel consists of two tunnel tubes. Due to the construction work on the new Botlek bridge, the tunnel tubes of the Botlek rail tunnel could be subject to deformations and settlements. To assess whether objects fall within the sections of free space and to be able to determine deformations of the drilled tunnel tubes, Iv-Infra accurately measured the two tunnel tubes including rail tracks with 3D laser scanning. Based on the measurement data, a cross section of the tunnel can be generated at any desired location giving insight into whether the train can pass freely without colliding with obstacles.
